March 2000 News
Welcome to the Year 2000!
THE PONY CLUB COMES TO HAYFIELD.
The Pony Club has recently started up a scheme
to involve riders from approved riding schools in the Pony Club. The scheme is
aimed at anyone under 21 years of age and enables you to learn basic knowledge
of horse and pony care in a rewarding, enjoyable and manageable way, as well as
giving members a chance to improve their general knowledge of the countryside
and the environment.
At present there
are 20 badges to be achieved; 10 equine/ horse and pony care and 10 general
knowledge/ countryside/ environment badges, further badges may be added to the
scheme in the future. The Pony Club is the largest association of riders in the
world, they have 364 branches in the U.K alone, they encourage young people to
ride and learn to enjoy all sorts of sport connected with horses and ponies.
Members of the Pony Club are covered by Third Party Public Liability Insurance.
Almost every famous rider, showjumper and eventer and your instructors too,
started to learn their skills with the Pony Club. |
